Roy Goin was born in Clarksdale, MS in 1940. He currently resides in Tomball, Texas. Along with being a commercial contractor, of which he is now retired, he embarked on his favorite career of art. Beginning in the field of watercolor, he advanced to wood carving, steel sculpture, oil painting, and copper sculpture. Through it all he always returned to his favorite medium, watercolor. Roy has studied over the past 20 years with such watercolor artists as Harold Phoenix, Lucy Arthur, Zoltan Szabo, and Frank Webb. All his watercolors pieces are painted on arches paper. Having never experienced a workshop in any other medium than watercolor, all oil paintings, wood carvings, and sculptures are self-taught. Copper sculptures rank as his 2nd favorite medium.
